Black Pepper

One of the most pivotal products that never lose out on its value is the Black Pepper. This spice in specific is profoundly known for its rich culture and medicinal properties. The Black Pepper also otherwise known as the "Piper Nigrum L." traces its origin from the family of Piperaceae. This Piperaceae in real is cultivated for its fruit, which is eventually dried and then used as an important spice for seasoning. Harvesting commences from third year onwards. The harvesting season is from November to March. Harvest is done by hand picking the whole spikes when few berries in the spike start turning red. The berries are separated and dipped in hot water (80'C) for one minute and sun-dried for 7 to 10 day.
